About

Bridget Collin's process of working varies from digitally constructed images to handcrafted and carved. What stays consistent throughout her artwork is the importance of pattern and surface; her paintbrush acts as a pencil, creating detailed mark making and elegant lines; whilst textural surfaces are constructed with paper collage and expressive brush strokes. Landscape often plays a vital role, she finds inspiration in detailed  markings in nature such as trees and water.

Bridget graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University, School of Art in 2014 with a 1st class honours, where she studied Illustration with Animation. On graduation, she was awarded the Fine Art MAFA award, this enabled her to exhibit with the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts (MAFA) for 2 years. Giving her the opportunity to have her work shown at Manchester Cathedral and Portico Library, Manchester. Since her graduation, she has also taken part in a group exhibition at Conningsby Gallery, London, 2014. In May 2015, after working closely with Audint for almost a year, the project was taken to Late Night at the Tate, Tate Britain, where an elegant animation of her 64 drawings was shown. Her work has also been chosen to be part of an Alumni exhibition, Legacy, Manchester Metropolitan University, January 2017.
