During its development and reconstruction, Manchester Central Library discovered archive material of the first advertising campaign for Manchester trams, this dated back to the 30's . Students at Manchester Metropolitan School of Art were approached with a brief to respond to these images, creating an image that related to a major tram stop in the city, there was to be a showcase of the work in the newly reopened Central Library. Bridget submitted The Reading Room, set in The Central Library, which is situated next to St Peter's Square tram stop. The image celebrates the original Reading Room, a beautiful dome that is a central point and creates structure to the building, bring the old and the new together. Bridget was a runner up for this competition, and her work was selected to be used for a line of greetings cards in Manchester Central Library.
